Rooted in Community.
Leading the Way.

Paul is running to lead the Arlington Democrats to organize boldly, communicate clearly, and build a party where everyone has a voice. Guiding a volunteer-driven organization means creating space for others to step up, take ownership, and grow into leadership. It takes thoughtful, people-centered direction, grounded in empathy, collaboration, and a belief that everyone has something to contribute.

After decisive Democratic victories in Virginia, this is our moment to turn momentum into lasting strength during the Trump years. The same energy that delivered big statewide wins must now grow our local committee and deliver real results for our community. By channeling that energy into year-round organizing, deeper neighborhood connections, and a party culture that seeks out new voices, Arlington Democrats can model what leadership looks like—rooted in community, open to everyone who wants to make a difference, and leading the way.

Engage

Arlington Democrats will listen, show up, and take action where it matters most.

EMPOWER

Arlington Democrats will lift up new leaders and give every voice a role in shaping our party.

LEAD WITH integrity

Arlington Democrats will earn trust through openness and follow-through.

Engage

Arlington Democrats can't just talk the talk. We have to walk the walk. That means talking to voters, strengthening our communities, and partnering with grassroots allies who are already leading the charge. Our greatest organizational strength lies in our ability to engage every community and every neighborhood. Together, we will elect Democrats up and down the ballot by setting clear organizing and communications benchmarks before each and every election cycle.

Continue to Strengthen
Precinct Operations

We will focus on year-round organizing, knocking on doors, making calls, and greeting voters, with the training, data, and mentorship that precinct captains need to build local networks. Each precinct team will have a plan to connect civic associations, tenant groups, and neighborhood leaders. Arlington Democrats will continue investing in tools that track progress and share knowledge, building on the "wiki" Paul helped launch to strengthen data sharing, coordination, and collaboration across the party.

Bridge Precincts, Outreach,
and the Party

Too often, precinct operations, outreach, and broader party activities operate in silos. Over time, our committee should work to unify these efforts, aligning messaging, data, and volunteer pipelines. Our organizing must be strategic, relational, and inclusive.

Meet Voters Where
They Are

We must be present where daily life happens: at metro stations, community centers, festivals, and farmers markets. Our committee will expand visibility through tabling, voter registration drives, and joint outreach with community partners. Every Arlington neighborhood should see a Democratic presence and a visible field effort every year, in every precinct.

Empower

We are a party of freedom, justice, and dignity. Following Virginia’s 2025 Blue Wave, our task now is to turn an expanded Democratic majority in Richmond into meaningful results for Arlingtonians. Empowering Democrats means communicating our values through action that delivers, translating momentum into progress people can see and feel in their daily lives, while building our local party in the process.

Speak Clearly and Consistently

We are in a moment of incredible urgency. Arlington Democrats must name what we believe—reproductive freedom, democracy, economic justice, environmental action, LGBTQ+ rights, and a pluralistic, democratic future for our kids—and live those values through action. We will communicate year-round, issuing timely statements and standing visibly with our community and with those under attack.

Translate Key Materials and Expand Outreach to the Latino and Other Overlooked Communities

We'll continue translating resources into Spanish, Arabic, Amharic, Bengali, Mongolian, and other common languages and launch radio and digital outreach so all of our voters see Arlington Democrats showing up and speaking the languages of their communities. We need to make sure no community is left behind.

Act on What We Hear

Paul helped organize town halls and legal aid events for federal workers and immigrant families facing uncertainty and fear. We must do more. We'll respond with continued and expanded programming, advocacy, and service that reflect our values in action.

Develop the Next Generation of Leaders

Arlington Democrats will build a robust volunteer program that recruits new members and prepares them to lead through training, mentorship, and real responsibility, grounded in respect and belonging for every volunteer. We will give them the microphone, encouraging leaders to take initiative, lead efforts, and represent our party in the community.

Respond Together

Arlington Democrats will deepen collaboration with grassroots partners such as We of Action and the Virginia Grassroots Coalition. When challenges arise, we will engage directly with affected communities and the organizations leading on the ground—and, where appropriate, serve as a convener to connect volunteers, elected officials, and partners so our response is organized, visible, and effective.

Contribute to Local Leadership Beyond the Party

Arlington Democrats don't just campaign. We serve. We'll encourage members to join advisory boards, commissions, and civic organizations to embed our Democratic values throughout public life.

Lead with Integrity

To lead with integrity, we must also speak with honesty and purpose. By making our processes transparent, engaging directly with the community, and ensuring every voice is heard, we will keep our party accountable to the people we serve.

Open Up

We will make processes easier to understand so every member knows how the party works and how to shape it. Twice a year, we’ll host “Open House” sessions to introduce leaders and gather feedback. The Committee will also review our Bylaws to make participation simpler, leadership pathways clearer, and decision-making more transparent.

Bring Community and Elected Leaders to the Table

Arlington Democrats will host regular briefings and panel discussions with community leaders and elected officials to strengthen collaboration, build buy-in for their plans, and keep the community informed.

Build Community

In our new headquarters in Shirlington, we’ll host public gatherings, trainings, and civic conversations that connect neighbors and demonstrate that Arlington Democrats are part of the community we serve.
